Glue and Books - What I Spend My Time With

Time is often not my friend, but today things totally got away from me. Good things, though, even though it means a short blog post today.

I'm using "Stickles" brand glitter glue this year. It features an ultra-fine
applicator tip and has great consistency with the glitter. I guess it's
worth the long dry time.

Yesterday was a day of catching up and experimenting with the next stage of my Holiday Cards. I redesigned the interior and printed out a test page to check out today, I also tested a new technique that I want to use. I can't believe how long it takes to dry! I'll have to leave the cards spread out across the downstairs work tables for more than three hours before things properly dry! Maybe I'll see if a hair dryer might speed things up, although with my luck, the hair dryer would only cause the paper to warp.

Heidi and Tim are getting down to the last few designers now.
We're through the chaff and into some serious talent for Fashion Week.

I'm way behind on my beta work, and I haven't written anything for several weeks. That's really not like me at all, but I've had my thoughts focused on my novel for NaNo and haven't wanted to pull away from that mind-set. I do have to get a chapter done for my friend in Germany, however, so maybe I'll work on that while watching Project Runway tonight.

I got into the Kingkiller Chronicles a year or so ago and loved the
first two books. Auli is an interesting character and I look forward
to re-entering this universe once more.

Got a pre-release notice for Patrick Rothfuss's newest entry into his Kingkiller Chronicles. "The Slow Regard of Silent Things" tells the story of Auli, one of the adjunct characters in the first two novels in the series. I've pre-ordered the NookBook and can hardly wait for it to make it to the top of my To Be Read pile.

Eric's newest book proves to be amusing and unusual, just
like his previous books have been. WARNING: Eric
writes M/M slash, so this is not a living-room coffee table
book for the kiddies to flip through.

I also got a release notice for Eric Arvin's latest book, "Wave Goodbye to Charlie". He had a video on his Facebook channel to trumpet the release and it is good to see him doing so much better. For those of you who don't know, Eric almost lost his life toward the end of last year and has been struggling back since then. It's been a very long haul and a difficult time for everyone, but his sense of humor seems to have survived intact and I'm very grateful for that.

I love reading. I'm just finishing up "Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki and his Years
of Pilgrimage" by Haruki Murakami. LOVE IT!

Time to plug pictures into this baby and call it a day. Have a great Thursday, all!
