It would be so pleasant to curl back up in the covers and grab some more sleep... |
The true fact is that I actually could do this if I wanted. I could go back to bed for another hour. I don't have any scheduled appointments for my early morning, I don't have any errands that have to be accomplished before 9:00 am, indeed, I have a fairly loose schedule. But I've learned over the years that the extra sleep isn't always a good thing in the long run. So, I'm debating. To sleep or not to sleep - that is the question (to paraphrase a famous playwright).
Sleeping and dreaming - sometimes daydreams just don't cut it. |
I'm busy working the prototype of my holiday card through in my early mornings. Yesterday I brought my two bins of stamping and embossing supplies over to the shop and unpacked them. I had supplies over three of the counters and reorganized so that everything I need for this year's Solstice cards are in a single container. I also proceeded working on the cover design. I need to get my brain in gear and compose the interior. The inside is holding me up right now and that's totally not acceptable.
As you can tell, there are some interesting swoops in the cover that are just begging for color... |
I'm going to figure out a way to decorate my Otter Box. For those of you unfamiliar with the term, OtterBox is a cell phone case that helps protect the device from impact and moisture. The one I got for my new phone is generic - white and grey. *sigh* Boring! I want color. It has these swoops in the back design that are impressed into the surface. They're screaming for color, so I'm thinking about some markers in rainbow colors to brighten up and personalize the back of my case just a bit. It just needs something.
What I love about early mornings is the sunrise. It's the best time of the day! |
The mornings are dark when I leave the house now. It's depressing to realize that the year is once again coming to the quiet of winter. I'm in NO WAY ready for winter again. I want the springtime greens, the summertime teals and the autumn russets, not the winter whites. But they had snow back on the reservation yesterday, as well as more than two inches in Rapid City, South Dakota, just down the road from the Rez. What happens there eventually comes here too. Winter is starting early, and I'm totally not ready for it to come yet.
Mount Rushmore got six inches of snow yesterday. It'll be gone quickly - it's too early in the season for the snow to stay around for long, but it's too early! |
Here's hoping you have a fabulous and less randomized Friday than I seem to be having. I think I'll do a photo blog tomorrow, it seems like a good way to start the weekend.
