Red and Two Lighter Shades

So yesterday Blogger was being a pill and none of my pictures transferred. Ouch! For someone who blogs picture intensive, it was like cutting off my right hand. I was crippled! It was so unfair! But when I got home from work last night, I tested things out and Blogger seems to be working properly again. So...

This is the first RED picture from yesterday. Here, this wonderful,
metallic and very shiny red art piece almost puts the Iron Throne
of Swords into shame.

My sunburn has retreated one step, but it still has a ways to go. The worse places are my nose (hello...Rudolf calling Santa red) and the left side of my neck. I probably should have left my hair loose instead of in a back braid, but it tangles so easily and knots badly in even the slightest wind, so I usually wear it confined in some fashion when I'm outside. Here is my second of the red pics from yesterday.

Nathan Sawaya does Lego art - these fabulous
creations in bright, plastic colors. Just follow the
link for more information about this New York
artist.

Since my red sunburn is actually retreating a bit (which is darned lucky because I have a four-day sun stretch coming up at the end of this week), I'll show you the final red from yesterday and then swing into some lighter shades of this glorious, rich color. Here's the final choice for red...

Nobody does red better than Mother Nature, and it is the season for
fresh raspberries. Yum! The berries that I grow usually feed the
birds and other critters and never seem to get this big and juicy, but
they're tasty, even if they're small.

So which direction for a rushed Tuesday. Going light than Red can bring us to pink. I must admit that pink is NOT my favorite color, but it can work as an accent to make other colors really pop. Then again, extended time in pink rooms can cause heightened paranoia and I'm quite sure I would be stark raving mad within five minutes of being in JeongMee Yoon's room as pictured below in 2007. Here are all of her pink things. Pardon me while I run out screaming...

When looking for pink, I found several shots of girls with all of their
pink items spread around their rooms - a veritable tidal wave of' pink.
This particular explosion belongs to JeongMee Yoon. What were her
parents thinking???

On the other side of the red comes orange. Now orange is a very different beast than pink. Orange is bright, happy, filled with sunshine, and generally makes most colors look better. I like orange - a lot. I don't wear it except in small bits and pieces here and there because it is an awful color on me, but I still love it. With a choice between orange or pink, give me orange any time.

There's just something welcoming about the color orange. It can warm
you up on a cold day, or cool you down on a hot one. Orange is a
great color.

So now that my blog is working properly again, and I've got all of you caught up, I'll leave things there until tomorrow. Find a color that makes you happy today and let yourself smile for no reason at all. Happy Tuesday...
