Although Chickie will work most of today, late this afternoon she will begin several days of vacation so that she can attend a workshop at a nearby college. It deals with a subject near and dear to her heart, so that's great. But it means that I have a Friday and a Saturday working just with Jim and that's always a bit difficult. I'll get my revenge later on this year when I attend the two conferences that I will be at, but it doesn't mean that I have to like it - LOL. Nontheless, I know she'll have a great time and that's what is most important. I'll be really happy to see her on Tuesday morning though.
Apparently my state, in its' infinite wisdom (not) has decided that all corporate payments for any type of tax should be made electronically. Of course, that decision came about AFTER we had already sent in a paper check with our corporate income tax return because the tax return said that we could just include the voucher and the payment along with the return. So, the state, in its' wisdom, is assessing us a 5% fine because we paid via paper check. My partner is NOT vey happy about this. So...I get to talk with our accountant this morning (we have breakfast together every Thursday morning - long-time friends and colleagues), and I get to show her the letter from the Revenue Department and basically, I get to complain. Whoopie! - Ah....the mysteries of life - LOL.
