Last night I finally hit the wall. I was watching the ice dancing event at the Olympics and reading a newly posted story in fan-fic, and I zoned out. Of course, I know that I'm exhausted - more than usual because I've been watching the Olympics until 11pm each night instead of usually going to sleep at 10pm. So, instead of my usual 5-1/2 hours of sleep each night (exhausting enough!), I have been getting 4-1/2 hours of sleep. It isn't working very well. I crawled upstairs at 9:30pm, told my DH who was watching Olympics curling on a different channel not to wake me, and went to sleep. I didn't care anymore. At least I feel a little better today, and I'll let myself sleep in tomorrow because I need it and it is Sunday - the only day of the week that I can sleep in.

After the short program for men's skating, I really had expected some outstanding skating for the long program. I was disappointed. With the new scoring system, it seems that they are just packing the program as fully as possible with jumps to get maximum points. It makes for a boring program and choreography becomes a joke. So, even though the US did get gold for Evan's performance, and even though he skated the program of his life, I was still disappointed with the performances. There were exceptions. For example, Johnny Weir did a wonderfully performed program - he's flamboyant and fun to watch.

We've been addicted to curling. We turn it on at the shop and all try to take whatever extra time we can to catch a glance at the latest match. We've decided we need T-shirts that have "WINTER-CURLING/SUMMER-CYCLING" written on them - we're SUCH sports geeks - LOL. Curling is practically the national sport of Canada and there is a curling club close to where I live here in Minnesota. The picture above is the British team for the Vancouver Olympics.
