Well, here I am starting another year and continuing with this daily blog. I am very surprised at myself - that I have continued this blog so long and still stick with it. But I have scheduled it into my day and my workday is incomplete without visiting and updating my blog. Why? For no more reason than it makes me think about how I will spend my day creatively. I will remind myself (and my readers) that creativity takes many forms. So, even though I might prefer to spend the day with my sketchbook and play with pencils and watercolors, I will be at the shop trying to get my customers to explore their own creative sides. That is a joy in its' own way and I don't mind doing this, but it's not working on my own personal art :-)

I did allow myself to spend a Barnes & Nobel gift card that my BFF Sharon had sent me for Christmas. My DH and I went to B&N yesterday to see what might be interesting. I ended up with a book called "Face Parts", a book that delves into the intricacies and structure of the face so that I can improve my drawing skills in that area. I also picked up "The Best Of Drawing" magazine. I can't wait to sit down and play :-)

And I picked up two different fabric pens from Michael's. They weren't the exact kind that I was looking for, but I hope that one or the other will work for marking my wool. I really would like to move ahead and finish the embroidery on my cloak because I have several others in the pipeline and need to get moving on them. My next studio day will be next week, and I can hardly wait! I hope that this 2nd day of your New Year will be a creative one for you.
