I'm Running Really Late - But Shruti Was Well Worth the Delay

Today is a "day off" although I'm going to be starting the day out at the shop before opening to finish a task I'm in the middle of which needs to be completed before the day starts. So, it's an "Off to the Races" kind of day already, and it isn't even 4:00 am.

It's a busy morning, and it's just past 4:00 am. I guess
today will be a "run here, run there" kind of a day.

It started out great, however, with a text from Shruti, my talented, artistic friend from India. She got my card, and the markers! I'm shocked, considering how many of my overseas cards arrived in tatters. But, hers' seemed to have arrived relatively intact. Oh happy day! LOL

This is one of Shruti's latest watercolors.
She just sits and produces them, and they're
wonderful, with her personal style all over
them. She hand makes her holiday cards
also, and this year's (as all years), was
wonderful and is in my permanent collection.

I know I've mentioned her before. She's such a talent and I'm so honored to have her as a long-time friend. We were roomies for several days at a metal clay conference years ago, as well as a Bead & Button Show, also several years ago. I think we had initially run into each other through metal clay. She's a multi-media artist, as am I. There's not an artistic form that doesn't interest her, and we both dip our toes into many different formats and media. Lately she's been traveling her area doing watercolors on site and they're absolutely lovely and distinctly hers. She loves to travel, and maybe one of these days we can meet up once again. I'd love that!

I don't think it snowed last night, so I won't be in
quite as much of a rush to get to the swimming
pool. But I'm still running REALLY late!

But, since I'm running REALLY late today - quick texts with Shruti followed by my meditation, and having actually slept until my alarm went off at 3:00 am, have caused me to be in a bit of a rush. I'm going to find photos to plug in, and head off to the pool. I'm grateful that we're still in an unusually non-snow winter so far. I won't have to shovel the driveway before putting out the trash barrel and heading to the YMCA. Have an excellent Wednesday and I'll be back tomorrow. Slava Ukraini and חיים למען ישראל.
