It's My Final "Day Off" Until After Christmas

Looking at the header on my computer, it appears I've opened my morning pages in exact reverse order. *sigh* I'm really hoping that reverse structure doesn't pass throughout my day because this is my last official "Day Off" until 2024 and I have a bunch of stuff that I need to get done today.

I'm not sure if you can read the test, so I'm repeating it
here because it's a thought worth passing on to all of you.
"If our lives are so busy, so filled with errands and
responsibilities and passions that we feel we have no
emotional capacity or time to take compassionate
action when confronted with the opportunity to do
so, we need to consider reordering our life priorities."

But the day started out bumpy. I awakened easily and started my morning meditation. I was finished with my first stage and into my second stage when I heard the TV turn on from upstairs. DH was awake, and it wasn't even 4:00 am yet! Oy! He's learned over the years. Although the TV remained on (he has the financial report on first thing every morning), he didn't even try to interact with me while I was into my second stage on my morning meditation routine. Instead, he started making his morning coffee and wandered downstairs to take his shower.

I truly hate listening to the television first
thing in the morning. Right now, however,
it's a fun interview with the Canadian military
trackers at NORAD who track Santa's progress
throughout the world. A Major-General (which of
course brings to mind the Gilbert and Sullivan song).

Of course, that meant the downstairs TV was also turned on to the financial channel - oh Joy! Interruption and intervention in stereo. *sigh* So, I'm now sitting here, trying to find my quiet place and compose my daily post, and within five feet of me is DH playing WinterFest on "Lord of the Rings Online" and the TV above his computer screen is blaring out the financial channel. *sigh* Why do people want to wake up with TV? Why do they want to listen to other people talk at this time of the morning? I'm afraid I simply don't understand. How can anyone listen to the rhythms of Mother Earth if they are blaring artificial news first thing in the morning? I simply don't understand, and I hope I never do.

I have to make sure I don't forget anything today, so
I might have to make a list. I rarely bother (except for
a grocery list), but it might be necessary.

Nonetheless, I'm trying to think through and arrange my day. It's my last "day off" until next year, and I have to make sure I've got enough Ogre Juice to get through the next 1-1/2 weeks, as well as have enough dinner fixings to get me through. The "Beast", our prime rib roast of 5+ pounds, is in the refrigerator slowly defrosting, and I'll have plenty to eat from that for many days, but I have to think of things like salad to get through until the 26th, and side dishes. We'll be at Target on the 26th to buy him a piece of white cake/white frosting, so we can pick up sundries then, but a true grocery shop probably won't happen until January 3rd.

I'm making the "Beast" on Christmas Day, although I might
make it on Sunday instead. But, right now my schedule is
for Monday for the beast, and it will probably take that long
for it to defrost appropriately. I'll be posting tomorrow, but
will probably take Monday off to celebrate the holiday.

Here's hoping your day started out with a quiet reflection. Please share a reflection with me, since listening to the financial market first thing in the morning certainly isn't a quiet reflection for my life - LOL. Enjoy your Friday. I'll be back tomorrow to wish all of you a lovely Christmas, but until then, Slava Ukraini and חיים למען ישראל.
