Yesterday Was Exhausting and I Didn't Even Get to Swim!

Yesterday was a very busy one. It should have started out at the swimming pool, but lightning storms had a different idea. They were going to switch us over to the indoor pool, but I decided that I'd push off for a day and swim today and Friday instead, so I returned home to a very busy "day off". I needed to decide on what to make so that I had dinners and lunches available while I'm working for Chickie over the next ten days, so that was my goal with shopping. I probably overdid it a bit, and I'll be making a bunch of things tomorrow.

I love my Roasted Peppers and Tomato soup. It's a blender
soup - the components are charred in the oven broiler, then
combined in my blender with stock and seasonings. The
blender does all the work. It requires a powerful blender,
but comes together like a charm.

I did get a lovely roasted peppers and tomato soup made yesterday while doing four loads of laundry. When I stripped the bedding off DH's bed yesterday, I took a good look at his mattress pad and decided it had to go into the washer too. That kept the dryer going for three long cycles because the pad likes to scrunch up on itself so that the outside gets nice and cozy and the inside stays damp. It finally was a level of damp I could live with, so it got back onto the bed and the bed remade with fresh linens. I was taking the last load of laundry out of the dryer after my phone conversation with Aearwen - so VERY late in the afternoon.

I did get some hamburger patties made and ready
to cook for a quick meal, and I also have a pound
of ground beef to make into meatballs tomorrow.
I have a marinated something (don't recall if it's
chicken or pork) that I'll look at tomorrow and
decide if I keep it in the fridge or put it into the
freezer. I won't starve while Chickie is out of
town, but I'll sure be glad when she's back.

I have a refrigerator full of things I'll be making on Friday alongside my Ogre Juice. I have ground beef for meatballs and for patties, I have a marinated pork something or other to go into the oven, and I know I have one more thing in the fridge, I'm just not remembering exactly what. I'm certainly not going to starve while working for Chickie, but it will be a week of different foods - not the usual. I've already warned DH that one night I'll have to make my Ogre Juice for the upcoming week while she's in Montana. I do have it down to an hour or so, but there won't be any wiggle room on that one.

My alkagizers (Ogre Juice) are rarely quite this green,
but it always depends on what veggies I buy that
day. I'll be making my next batch tomorrow and will
have to squeeze in another round next Thursday or
Friday for the week after. I only make a batch of
four at a time - that's a VERY full blender.

Still, I expect next week will be a bit of a mess all around. Thank goodness I will still have my morning meditation, my swims, and my daily blog. I need some stability in my life. I did get that invoice together for DH, now he wants a couple of changes. One of the changes involves adding a column, and since I used a template, I'm not sure if I will have that capability. I'll be trying to get that conquered while at the shop today. Goals and goals, right? LOL Have a truly excellent Thursday and I'll be back tomorrow. Slava Ukraini.
