It's a Day Off and the Weather Is Glorious Today

Congratulations to Las Vegas for winning the Stanley Cup in a final game score of 9-2 over the Florida Panthers. The series went 4-1, so it was rather resounding. We didn't bother watching the game after Vegas got their third goal. We switched and watched an "Inspector Lewis" instead. Neither of us wanted to watch Las Vegas raise the Cup.

Minnesota made it into the playoffs, but we only
progressed a tier or maybe two. The winner of
the whole shebang, however, was Las Vegas. They
had a well-rounded team and simply did a better
job all around. Oh well, there's always next year - LOL.

It's a very busy "Day Off" today, and although it's only 3:45 am, I already have a load of laundry washing, I've done the copies I need to drop by the shop on my "out and about" today, and I've almost decided to do an extra load of laundry and wash my comforter in the fourth load. I'll have to see how my times work out. It's a possibility, though.

It's going to be a beautiful summer day today, and I'm
hoping to get time to spend at least some of it outdoors
in the garden. These are the days I yearn for in the depths
of our winters.

Yesterday was a beautiful day outside, so we were dead in the shop. We had customers, but not many, and not much for dollars in the cash drawer at the end of the day. Still, I got quite a lot done, just not with customers. Chickie is going "eeep" and "argh" and "ooof" and other noises fairly consistently. I'd say the spinal injection she got last Friday either hasn't kicked in much, or simply isn't doing what they hoped it would. I feel for her, and really wish she could find some true relief from the pain. I dislike seeing any living thing in pain.

Today it is blue skies and sunshine - I can hardly
wait. I still have cooking to do, so I'll be in the
kitchen for some of the day, but I want to get outdoors
for part of it as well.

Today will be sunny and hot, and hopefully I'll get a chance to sit in the garden for a while. I do love doing that when I have the time and ability. I have things I have to get done for DH on my computer at home, as well as the usual household things, so I might not have a lot of free time. But I'm going to try to carve out at least 1/2 hour to spend outside. Clear and hot works for me at this time of the year.

One thing DH did for me was plant three different types of
peppers for me to enjoy this year. My jalapeno is just starting
to bear peppers. They're not as large as this photo, but they're
definitely growing every day. Such fun!

So I'm wrapping this up, plugging in photos, and heading for the swimming pool. It's such a treat to start the morning in the water while the sun rises. These are the times when life just couldn't get a whole lot better. I hope you have a glorious day today, that all goes right for you and that you go to sleep tonight satisfied with how your day went. I'll be back tomorrow. Slava Ukraini.
