Yesterday was very COLD, but it was just a quick cold snap and we'll have a beautiful weekend ahead. The gas meter changeover was relatively fast and easy, I suspect his difficulties at getting my water heater and furnace re-lit was the hardest part of the job. But all was accomplished. When my photos actually appear in my email, I'll share before and after shots with all of you. But, job done.
My next door neighbor dropped by quickly to invite us to his daughter's High School graduation party - a backyard "dessert bar" to be held tonight from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm. He said there would be a "bunch" of people attending, so he asked the City for a temporary suspension of the "No Parking" ban on our street for the duration of the event, which he was granted. He wanted to warn us about that too, and that he had warned people to NOT park or block driveways. So ... getting into the house after work tonight might have some challenges, but I'm sure it will be fine.
His daughter, Annika, is their oldest, they have two younger boys too. She's the first one to leave the nest and will be starting college at Hope College in Michigan in the Fall. As Chris said - "Too far for her mother's liking" - LOL. It makes sense that she would chose a Christian college - the entire family is very church oriented. I just hope she has a good time and looks back on her college years as happy and successful.
Since it was cold, I decided to do a bit of baking. I had been wanting to make some baked pears since I came across a recipe that sounded good a few weeks ago. So, when I was at the store, I picked up a couple of pears and proceeded to make the dessert when I got home. It turned out REALLY tasty - very easy to make and delightful. I'll bring one to Chickie today - I had teased her with a photo and she was drooling, so I offered a half to her and she jumped at the chance. I do admit, it's quite yummy, and it won't last long - LOL.
So that's about it for today. I'll see if my photos came through on my email so that I can share them, but if not, it'll be Monday. Have an excellent weekend and Slava Ukraini. No photos have arrived in my in-box yet, and I have to wrap this up. Photos on Monday.
