I'm Off and Running - It's Going to be a Busy Day Off

It's the usual "hectic" Wednesday, my "day off". Amidst the other things I have on my agenda (grocery shopping, cooking my meals for the next week, etc), I get to add "pick up the income taxes" to my list. The accountant's office doesn't open until 9:00 am, so I'll be there as soon as they're open to get my blue folder. I'll let DH look them over tomorrow - I don't think I'll be in his general area today, and he's working on cleaning the basement at the shop anyway. No time for taxes today. 

I always do some housecleaning on my days off, it 
might be quite minor, but something needs to be done 
every day. It's rather amazing how quickly two adult 
people can mess up a house. 

On Monday, DH was in the basement at the shop almost all day, cleaning and putting things away. He needs the basement clean and organized before seeing if a few possible buyers could be invited over to bid on his airplane repair materials. He must have taken at least 20 loads of torn-up cardboard out to the shop's recycling bin. It's a good thing we have a large industrial metal bin - all four stores use it, and use it heavily. 

We have an industrial-sized recycling bin at the shop, that 
we share with three other stores. It gets heavy use and gets 
picked up several times a week. DH has been using it 
heavily so far this week. 

By the end of Monday the basement storage was starting to look really good. There's still a LOT of work to be done, but he got a really good start on it. I, not to be outdone, have been working on my master list of Swarovski crystals. Just part number, vendor identification and quantity of 100-packs on hand, separated by style and size. I've got the 3mm size complete, and am fully involved in the 4mm right now. If I have time today, I'll set up the laptop and continue with that list. But since I have other things to do on my "day off", it may not happen until tomorrow. 

Aearwen and I usually chat on Wednesdays. It was 
quite out of the ordinary to get a call from her on a 
Monday. We'll be laughing about this one later today. 

One funny thing this week, though. On Monday I was busy working on the 3mm crystals list when my cell phone rang and I noticed it was Aearwen on the line, so I quickly answered it, hoping that nothing was seriously wrong. She started chatting. When I asked if everything was all right, it caught her a bit off-guard. Then she realized it was Monday, not Wednesday, and she was two days early for our weekly phone chat. We laughed about her being SUPER early, and signed off until later today. I'm just grateful that nothing was wrong. It could have been something much worse than just mixing up days. I'll chat with her later today and I'm sure we'll be laughing about our impromptu Monday conversation. 

As usual, I'll be a busy bee today on my 
"day off" starting with the swimming pool. 
I have to get going. 

I'm heading off to the swimming pool, the first load of laundry is in the washing machine, and I have to make a decision on what to make for my dinners for the next week. I have a final portion of soup that I can have tomorrow, and I'm cooking chicken tonight, so if I get totally stuck for ideas, I can push things out until Friday, but it would be good to have an idea. Hmmm .... in any case, have an excellent Wednesday and I'll be back tomorrow. Slava Ukraini.
