I'm Ditsy - and, It Seems, a Little Dizzy Too

We had a relaxing Sunday with a mid-day hockey game (we won ... Go Wild!). We finished the day up with another episode of "Vera". We've now completed Seasons 1-4, all of which we've seen before. I suspect much of the next six seasons we have will be new to us, and I'm looking forward to all of them.

Instead of Joe Ashworth as her assistant, Season
Five starts out with a new character, Aiden Healey.
It'll be a change, but we're still in episodes we've
seen before, so it won't be that much of a change.
We do love the series and I'm totally enjoying this
holiday gift to the max!

On Saturday night, I had a bit of a fright. I awakened a little after 3:00 am and headed to the bathroom. But, I suddenly became extremely dizzy and couldn't find my balance at all, falling forward into the table I have in front of my picture window. This table contains my copper owl plate and a number of bottles of liquor that DH has purchased as gifts for me (mostly various Port wine, but also miniatures of a variety of rum and tequila). I ended up knocking one bottle of port down behind the table, my owl plate also fell down, and a few empties of the mini bottles (I rate them and keep them for reference for when I'm shopping for replacement full-sized bottles). I wasn't injured, the items weren't injured, but it was at least 10-15 minutes before my balance was back and I could get to the bathroom and back into bed.

Although I might be a bit ditsy sometimes, I don't get
dizzy often. I don't mind being dizzy, but this time
caught me totally off guard. Apparently there are four
different types of dizzy - Vertigo, Disequilibrium,
Presyncope and Light-headedness. I think I was
experiencing vertigo. I'll have to keep an eye on
this, since dizziness can be an indicator of
something more serious health-wise.

I hadn't had anything like that happen to me before and it caught me totally off-guard. When I spoke to DH about it the next day, he said he experiences that every now and again, and the only thing to do is to immediately lie down on the ground until the dizzy spell leaves. I'll have to try and remember that for any subsequent events, but as my long-time friends would say, "I'm ditsy enough that being dizzy should be second nature to me". They probably wouldn't be wrong, at that - LOL.

Apparently "ditsy" has several different meanings, but
one of the major definitions is a type of fabric print,
similar to what you see here. I have a closet full of
prints similar to these in my Sewing Closet #2. It's
a common design motif for calico.

So that was my excitement for the weekend. I have a crowded week ahead of me, and I'm already trying to think about what I'll cook on Wednesday to take me through the next week's meals. I have some lovely fish for Friday, but I'm thinking I might make some more stuffed cabbage. That's a lovely meal - a bit messy to make, but it makes a lot and it's really yummy. I don't shop until Wednesday, so I can think about it a bit more, but right now that's looking like my winner.

Happy Monday to all. Let's try to make it the best
Monday possible, the beginning of a really great week.

Have an excellent start to your week. I'll be back tomorrow. Slava Ukraini.
