People are packing the trains and buses and evacuating Kiev. Almost all of the evacuees are women and children. The men are staying to fight for their homes and nation. DH keeps saying they should be using IED's and actually, in this instance, that's not a bad idea. They have to work a guerrilla war against the Russian troops. It's their only chance of survival. Would you like to know how you can help Kiev and the Ukraine? Here's a page that has a lot of excellent options. https://www.globalcitizen.org/en/content/ways-to-help-ukraine-conflict/ |
I spent my day, however, with the TV and news feeds off. I needed to get serious work done on my Etsy offerings, and simply couldn't be distracted by anything. I didn't even put headphone on and listen to music. All I did was work on getting the Trade Beads I had photographed up, labelled, and ready to go. I'm going to read through things once more today, and go live either on Sunday or on Monday.
I wanted to speak to a customer service representative about a potential problem they had with my corporate documentation. I didn't have a chance to speak to a human, but their "help" section was quite comprehensive and I think I have figured it out. I changed a couple of things and resubmitted the forms. I also am dealing with a vendor who is being a total PITA, asking us to resubmit forms to them, even though we've done business with them for almost 30 years. I don't have all of the forms here at home, so I'll scan or photograph what I need at the shop today and work on that tomorrow. I'd like to get back to work on the Swavorski crystals pages too, although if we're busy at the shop today, that simply won't happen. Etsy product pages have to be fully completed before they can be saved, and it's very time consuming to do the crystals pages because of the long color lists that need to be generated. I might also crop the photos so that I can offer specific types on different pages - standard colors vs colors with the A/B finish, etc. It might make it easier for the buyer.
One thing I'd love to do is offer the other sizes as well. After all, I have cubes (the shape I'm currently working on) in 8mm, but I also carry them in 6mm and in 4mm. I even have a small number of 10mm. I have looked at some listings where they have alternative sizes listed, so I know it's a possibility. Now to figure out how to do it. I'll get good at this yet - LOL.
So, I'm going to grab something to eat, gather up my various stuff, and head out. I won't mind being at the shop early - it's not warm there, but I can get some uninterrupted work done on the laptop before I have to unlock my doors. Have a good weekend and think a lot of positive thoughts for the people of Ukraine. Putin's actions are unconscionable and cannot be condoned in any way.
