Le Tour de France - A Sprinters Stage for Today and Tomorrow

I missed most of Le Tour de France yesterday, running up north to pick up DH's repaired computer from my Computer Guru, and returning home and reinstalling the repaired CPU. As always, (when Dale isn't busy on the phone with a customer), we had a chance to catch up and chat for a while (1+ hours of a while). I then was sent on my way back home, having paid a ridiculously small bill for parts only (he threw in the labor for free). It took a couple of phone calls to him before I had the CPU plugs into their correct socket locations, but everything seems to be working well now and I'm relieved. I think my network is still uncomfortable with the new CPU, but it's accepting it and I'm not really sure what else I need to do to calm it down. I'll deal with that on Friday, the next day I have time to deal with computer issues.

Today's route is from Saint-Paul-Trois-Chateaux to
Nimes, that twisty-turny squiggle to the left of
the hook that was yesterday's incredible mountain
stage. No overnight travel is necessary, because
tomorrow's longer sprint stage will start from
Nimes.

I was sorry to have missed the race, it sounded as if it was a really good finish on a really tough stage. But, life and Le Tour goes on and today we're into Stage 12. It's a good sprint stage, so the finish could be interesting. (Tomorrow will also be a good stage for a sprint finish). The current standings, after yesterday's brutal climb of Mont Ventoux - Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates/UAE) is in the Yellow, Mark Cavendish (Deceuninck-Quick Step/BEL) wears the Green, Nairo Quintana (Team Arkea-Samsic/FRA) wears the Polka-dot, Jonas Vingegaard (Jumbo-Visma/NED) wears the White as the best young rider, and the top team right now is Bahrain Victorious. Kenny Elissonde (Trek-Segafredo/USA) was awarded Most Aggressive Rider for yesterday's stage.

Today we continue working our way towards the
Pyrenees, which will be start on Sunday.  We've got
two great sprinters stages now, followed by
a hilly stage that will be highly competitive.
There's every possibility that Mark
Cavendish will win one, or maybe even both
of the next two stages if he's lucky. TdF history
might well be made over these next two days.

Today we head from Saint-Paul-Trois-Chateaux to Nimes along a stage that is picture perfect for the sprinters. The varied topography will keep everyone on their toes, but there's probably going to be a break-away of some type and the key, as always, will be to string them along, then pull them back into the peloton as the finish line gets closer. Today will be a day of strategy, teamwork and a bit of luck. I know who I'd love to see on the podium at the end of the day, but we'll have to see. My wishes don't always come true. LOL

My NetGear Nighthawk is blinking where
it shouldn't be. I suspect the new motherboard
and graphics card installed by Dale are
confusing it. I'll have to settle down
tomorrow and figure out how to calm
down my electronics once again. At
least DH has no problem accessing the
internet, so that's what's important.

On that note, I'm out of here. I have a lot to do and I'd probably better get to it. Our miserable heat wave has moved away and last night was actually a really comfortable night's sleep. I hope this continues for a while, my plants are MUCH happier in the cooler temps of a "normal" summer. Have an excellent Thursday and I'll be back tomorrow for another post in "How the Tour Rolls". LOL
