The Good, The Bad and the Green

It's another super early morning for me. I awakened at 2:15 am, and just couldn't get back to sleep. So I gave up, did my morning meditation and hit the treadmill to start my day. At least I'm not running late. I figure I must have been a premature baby - I prefer being early to every event than running the chance of being late. I might not be a good cook, but I can handle pre-dawn with grace.

I've always loved the early morning hours. I look at that
quiet time as my opportunity to get my thoughts in order
and plan for the day ahead. On the rare occasions when
DH also wakes early, I hate his presence. He wakes with
noise and the TV. I wake with silence and I revel in it.

I had a very full day yesterday, and still didn't get to seaming my sweater. But I did participate in a Zoom call for my WildFit program and went to the grocery store to buy a lot of produce and vegetables for our next anchor in the program, a blended veggies and fruit smoothie that we'll eat/drink every morning. I was worried about my old blender - would it be able to handle the demands of turning large amounts of raw veggies and fruit into a blended drink. But it stood up to the challenge beautifully and I now have 2-3 days worth of the mix in my fridge. I'm looking forward to having some in a short while.

Yes, it's very green, but it's also very tasty. I can see myself
becoming addicted to these, and that's not a bad thing at
all. It does take time to make - to prep the various veggies
and fruits that go into it. But after it's blended and in the
fridge, I have enough for 2-3 days.

The dryer duct cleaning guy was here shortly after 10:00 am. He checked the set-up, ran the dryer to check the airflow (which was excellent), and finally ran a device down the duct to get it totally cleaned out. Rather like a roto-rooter for plumbing. Although my dryer was beautifully clean, there was some residue in the duct itself - not enough to impede air flow, but it needed a clean. I think we have been using the duct since the first washer/dryer set, and who knows if the previous owners ever had it cleaned out. So potentially, it could have been uncleaned for decades. So it was dirty, but far from filthy. I'm still not getting heat, though, so I contacted my appliance store to get onto the repair schedule. They'll phone me back with a time and date on Monday.

The guy (Brad) was very nice, polite, took social
distancing, etc quite seriously, and always wore
boot protectors in my house to protect my carpeting.
I think they are a national franchise, so if you need
your ducting cleaned out, I recommend them.

Therefore it's looking like I'll have 1-2 more weeks of trudging my laundry over to the laundromat for drying. Most definitely NOT one of my favorite things to do, but what's the old saying? "You do what you have to do." On that note, I'm plugging pictures in here, grabbing breakfast, and heading out to work. I hope you have a glorious happy day filled with all of the good things. Please be kind, stay safe and wear your mask. I'll be back on Monday.
