Christmas is Looming - Food, etc

Yesterday was a "pick up" and/or "make" food day, interrupted by a four+ hour shift at the shop. Today DH has to work with me and he's thinking we'll be super busy. I suspect we'll see the desperate - those who have run out of places to go for that "perfect" holiday gift. We might be busy, but we'll hang in there. I'm hoping for busy for next week - my Four-Day sale where everything in the store (with VERY few exceptions) is 40% off. That starts Friday and continues through New Year's Eve except for Sunday when we're closed. Chickie will work next week Monday - I'm optimistic that we'll be busy bees.

Why do we feel it necessary to get gifts for everyone? It seems
there's always one more person who gets added to the list.
I feel sorry for people at this time of the year - running around
like crazy trying to find that one last gift.

So my refrigerator is stuffed - a 9+ pound ham, a hugh roast beast which is going to be roasted on Christmas Day, two pies (Candy Cane and Pumpkin), and other stuff of less merit. The fridge is feeling the pressure to perform, and it's doing admirably.

DH decided he not only wanted the Candy Cane pie, but also one
of their wonderful Pumpkin with Whipped Cream Topping pies.
So, we have two pies in the fridge. Yummy!

I pretty much have DH's gifts done - not very much this year, but a few things he said he wanted and I hope he actually will. I've learned over the years - I don't have everything bought, I buy them a bit later when he can think about them. He's been thinking about finally upgrading his phone, and Verizon actually has a few that they can offer me at a reasonable price, so one of his gifts is the opportunity to upgrade. We'll see.

One of the things I'm offering to DH is a Moto G7 Power phone to
replace his ancient one. I can get it through Verizon for $10/month
or purchase it outright for under $200. His phone is ancient
and has been acting up. I think he would enjoy an upgrade.

I'm heading out to the gym today because with all of the salt from the Chex Mix (so addictive) and the ham, I'm up two pounds! So I'll try for a hard workout today because I know I'll be off from the gym until Friday. Three days of eating and I'll regret it if I don't at least try to stay healthy.

It's long, it's dark, and it's excellent. If you get
an opportunity to see "A Christmas Carol" on FX,
I highly recommend it.

On that note, I'm out of here. OH!!! I finally saw the entire "Christmas Carol" on FX yesterday. It's long and it's dark but it's excellent. I highly recommend it. Have a great Monday, I'll be back tomorrow.
