Transgender Remembrance Day Was Yesterday

Yesterday was the international Transgender Day of Remembrance, and I once again present the link of the list of victims over the previous twelve months to all of my readers. Just click on the link above to get the list, and as you scroll down, think about each victim, each bright light that no longer shines on us. According to Newsweek, 331 trans and gender-diverse people were murdered between October 2018 and September 2019. Brazil led the numbers with 130, Mexico had 63 and the USA had 30. In the USA, eighty-five percent of the murdered were Native American trans women or trans women of color.

A night of remembrance in Bangalor for Transgender Remembrance Day.

On my part, I did get a lot done yesterday. Not everything I needed to get done by a long reach, but I'm progressing. The Email to my customers still looms, so I'll try to work on that at the shop today. I did get some cleaning done, and I did get some more work done on my cards. I made phone calls I needed to make and phone calls I wanted to make, and all in all, it was a good day.

The chains I was working on were much finer than these, but
I didn't think to take a photo before diving into the project.

DH came home with a baggie of five small pendants whose chains had gotten so tangled up that it took me almost 90 minutes to untangle the mess. But, fortunately, I managed to get them separated. I've always enjoyed doing that kind of thing, but it's not easy and has lots of little levels of frustration when I think that one finally is free, only to find that it's just twining into a new knot of silver. Still, I did get them separated, so that's a good thing. I'll polish things tonight and bring everything back to the shop tomorrow.

On that note, I'm wrapping this up. I want to read down the list of those lost to trans-gender violence before heading to the gym. Have an excellent Thursday and I'll be back tomorrow.
