Making Time Flexible

It's one of those days. It's a day when I got up thinking I have plenty of time to get everything done before leaving for the day, and realized that I was wrong - so very wrong! It's OK, it's my day off and time has flexibility, but still ... I was so very wrong.

We all have to adapt to changing circumstances
throughout our days. We're riding on flexible
time.

I got pulled into the whirlpool of emails, book reviews and on-line articles, along with a large online order for the store and basic stuff like starting my first load of laundry for the day. I got caught up in planning what I can realistically expect to accomplish on my "day off", what I should wear given that we're getting colder and it's raining/snowing outside, and wondering if rain/snow is "rnow" or "snain". Yes, my mind can travel some very strange and circuitous pathways.

We walk the same 24 hours in a day as everyone else, but
some people can accomplish so much, while others of us
whirl around. It's hard to stop that whirlpool of flexible
time and stop the gears to look at the greater picture.

The only thing I know for a fact is that I want to get the next stage of my holiday cards completed at the shop early today, then leave so that I can bring them home for a quick paint job. I also need to take a serious look at my adhesive options - both tapes and glues. AND ... I need to grab the mini-envelopes for the ornaments and get those over to the shop, but that can happen tomorrow morning.

One step at a time. I'll get to the finish line, but I have to think
ahead too. I can't wallow in any single moment or I'll lose
the momentum that will lead to success.

Today I'm concentrating on what must be done, revising my mental schedule according to decisions made about adhesives, and focusing on what I plan to get finished for Thursday through Saturday. It might not be NaNoWriMo, but it's "Create-A-Card" central right now, and I'm happy, even though I'm confused and fighting clocks yet again. Have a wonderful Wednesday and I'll be back tomorrow.
