I'm Getting There - It Was A Busy Wednesday

Yesterday was my "day off", countdown 4 Days Until Sharon, so I was busy, busy, busy. I have photos to share with all of you throughout this quick post. I started the day by loading four boxes of books for Half-Price Books, and ended up taking them back out of the car and rescheduling that stop for next week. Although I went there two times, they were swamped and it would have been more than an hour's wait. I didn't have an hour to spare, so no. I brought them back. But I accomplished a lot more in other directions.

Sharon's Room is almost ready. I still have to clear off
the sleeper sofa (horrid mattress, so I add an air mattress
on top of it), and vacuum and clear away empty boxes,
but I'm down to minimal mess. I'm quite happy.

I returned to cleaning and putting away. Sharon's room looks almost ready now, although I will need the three days I still have available to get everything completed here and the rest of the house vacuumed and cleaned up. I'm still pleased.

The small bookcase hasn't been this clean and
organized in years. I don't have books stacked
in front on the floor, instead, everything has
its' place and is accessible. I'm rather shocked
that this is starting to come together. The large
wheel on the left is from my biggest spinning
wheel. I don't have any other place where
it will fit, and it's comfortable in the space.

I discovered a new tool - Clorox Dusting Clothes - in my grocery while running through to get my weekly shopping done. They were 20 cloths per box, 2 boxes for $5, and promised one-swipe pickup of dust without scratches. I tested them out on my dragon shelves yesterday, and a job that usually takes most of an afternoon was complete within 20 minutes. Yeah - I'm a fan of these cloths.

A closeup of the bookshelf's right-hand side makes me
laugh a bit. This is DH and I in a nutshell. We get a
cast of St Joseph (from Italy, no less) standing next to
the slightly off-kilter menorah my Dad had picked up
in Denver when they first moved there. In front is
a small menorah from Israel with another one
hanging down below it, and on the left side, one
of my favorite stuffed animals, "Betty" (don't ask
me why that's it's name, it just is - LOL). Then
we have a balance scale and a small stuffed
koala bear. Yeah - my life in a nutshell.

DH came home yesterday with the final large shelf from the shop that he will repurpose into a bookshelf for the short hallway leading into the craft room. We currently have large stereo speakers in that space, but really need the room for my "art inspiration" books, which are often oversize. I think that may also be a home for my Egypt books which is a pretty extensive collection since it's a focal in my art.

The left side of the new craft room nooks has been filled with magazine
holders. Most of them are my almost complete set of "Bead & Button"
magazine (I'm missing five issues). I'll have to see if I have any
of my missing five still at the shop, but if not, they may be gone
forever. Still, it's coming together nicely, don't you think?

So I'm getting there. I'm not for a second saying I have this nailed, I don't. But I'm feeling better about it. Today, early, DH will drive to the shop and we'll wrestle the sheet-metal top of the solder bench out of the shop and into the truck. If he can get it out of the truck on his own, he can start working on reassembling the solder bench today. If he'll end up needing my help, it'll have to wait until tomorrow.

So, that's it for today. I hope all of you have a wonderful and fabulous day today - Thursdays deserve their love too - LOL. I'll be back tomorrow, at least that's the plan. *Hugs*
