Golf and a Return to Normal

I'm ready to pick up with my life once more. After five days off, most of which were off because of an intestinal illness, I'm SO ready to get back to my normal. I'm off to the gym in half an hour and I'm really looking forward to some well-earned sweat. DH and I both came down with this crud, so we're going to eat lightly over the next week, before having a nice Easter dinner. My total weight lost due to not being able to eat much of anything: five pounds in five days. Not the way I want to lose weight, but I'll take it. 

Tiger Woods won his fifth green jacket at Augusta on Sunday. This places
him firmly into golf history, right between Arnold Palmer and
Jack Nicklaus. Pretty good compeny! 

I'm still not at 100%, but darned close, and it helped to have a full day off yesterday to do nothing more than play on the computer and watch The Masters golf tournament and then switch over to Stanley Cup Hockey playoff games. I've got to join the large chorus and congratulate Tiger Woods on an extraordinary tournament. He was steady, came through in the clutches, and really impressed. After fourteen years, Tiger won the Green Jacket once again, his fifth time as a winner. He is one of a select group of winners, now, having won one more time than Arnold Palmer, and one less than Jack Nicklaus. Augusta is a bear of a course and he ended up alone at the top with a final four-round score of -13! That's some excellent golf! 

Augusta National Golf Course is located in Augusta, Georgia. It's a
stunningly beautiful course, and is subject to weather like
any other course in the Spring. This year we got a day of
rain, and an extremely early start to Sunday's round to
avoid most of the bad weather that was coming to the area.

I always love watching The Masters in April. We usually have snow on the ground and to see the green grass, blooming flowers and leaves on the trees is a promise of our spring yet to come. This year the birds were going absolutely crazy at Augusta, and every commentator had a thrilling and musical background trying to drown him out. Rather hilarious. 

The fact that the azaleas are already blooming and so beautiful
while we are still looking out over our late spring snowbanks,
gives me hope for a future of warmer weather and colorful flowers. 

So I took it easy yesterday, and even went to bed 1/2 hour earlier than usual. But, enough is enough. I really miss the gym. I never get as long a workout when I'm at my Chiropractor every other Monday, but today I won't mind that slightly shortened time frame. I think I'll skip the elliptical completely and do a solid stint on the recumbent bicycle. It'll be a good "toe in the water" exercise for the first day back. I had built myself into 2+ miles on the elliptical, but I'll tackle that machine again tomorrow instead. 

Get those income tax returns filed no later than today (if you
haven't already done so).
