Spring is Springing

It's Friday. Isn't that a wonderful thing? DH started clearing out our side porch yesterday, putting things into the storage shed. We rarely access the coolers, propane camping stoves and lawn chairs, and I want to set up my metalworking station in the side porch to keep open flames away from the inner house. We're not quite to the "moving it all over" point yet, but we're going to be doing a lot of prep work this summer, as well as more work on the back yard and patio area.

I love the delicate little bells of Lily of the Valley. As a
May baby, it's also my birth-month flower. I can hear
the small jingle-jangle of these flowers at the back of
my mind. So sweet!

Meanwhile, it's just a joy to have warm temperatures. Spring might finally have arrived, with that horrid 15.8" snowfall and blizzard as winter's final hurrah of the season. I haven't had a chance to walk along the side of the house yet, but I'm sure my Lily of the Valley, snowdrops, and other early spring flowers are starting to come up. Some might even already be in bloom.

Snowdrops are usually one of the first flowers to poke their
heads out in the early spring. We probably missed seeing
them this year because the snow was too deep to get over
to that side of the house.

I sent off another of my custom eyeglass frames to my relenser (I use LensesRx if you are ever curious about using this option). This pair will be my outdoor/driving/everyday pair. It's my standard bifocal with a Transitions treatment on the lens. I'm not 100% happy with the auto-change lenses, but I really need them when I'm outdoors or driving.

Tulips aren't blooming yet, but I'm sure their leaves are starting
to poke out of the ground. In a few short weeks, they'll be
carpeting some areas of the city with colorful blooms.

Eventually I'll end up with one more set of computer glasses so that I can leave one at the shop and the other at home. The cost of those lenses aren't bad at all - less than $100 because they are single vision prescription. The bifocals of my other glasses cost more, but they are rather essential - LOL.

The other thing that we'll soon see will be our flowering fruit
trees. We have pears, peaches, crab apples, etc in the Cities,
and they are beautiful in the Spring.

I'm going to enjoy today, though. We have a small possibility of rain, and it's only going to hit the upper 50's for our temps, but damn - Spring is finally here! Huzzah!!! Have a wonderful Friday and I'll be back tomorrow.
