It's Crunch Time

It's crunch time. After a fabulous, warm weekend of temps in the 40's, we're diving down again into the cold and snow of a typical winter. DH and I had a lovely Sunday, a relaxing one since it is the last Sunday I'll have off until after Christmas Day. For the next four Sundays, I'll have the store open from noon until 4:00 pm. It's not a great amount of time, but it takes away from other things I could be doing.

There's not much to my holiday hours, but I do need to get my
signs on the door. This year I'm just running behind. 

I'm less than 200 words away from finishing NaNoWriMo for this year. You might legitimately ask, "Why not just finish it today since you have so little left to write for your 50,000 words?" It's a good question. But I'm at a good spot to leave the plot for a day, and I want to do a bit more than 50,000 because my word count may not be 100% the same as their validation software's. It's always wiser to be a bit ahead before sending in the word count. So I'll bring my characters home, allow them to unpack, and let the school year start before I call a quit on this year's NaNo. It's been really fun to write the modern portion of my story, though. Just seeing the romance bloom between the main character and her boyfriend was so much fun. I love writing what I see.

When two people really click, it's a joy to write about them. My
contemporary characters have become a great couple. 

I need to send an email out to my customers on Tuesday regarding our Black Friday and Small Business Saturday sales. It would be a lot easier to do if I had made up my mind about what items I wanted to offer for each day. I'm quite torn on that and will need to bounce ideas off DH to see if we can fine-tune this at all. It's frustrating and I feel as if I'm a bit in the dark right now, and I'm running out of time.

What to offer that will bring the customers in to the store? It's a quandary.
