I'm in the mood for pretty pictures today, and since I was talking with Aearwen on Wednesday about my mother - the woman who never saw a garden she didn't love, and since it is autumn here where I live and the flower gardens are dying and retreating for winter's cold - I've decided on gardens for today's photos. So sit back and enjoy a variety of gardens from around the world.

This is the entrance to the Bao Family Garden in Huang Shan, China. My mother would have gone past the gate to look at the plants without a second thought. |

This lovely green garden with central fountain is in the UK. I love the slightly winding pathway to get to the center. |
|
This really lovely entryway is in Norfolk - the British one, not the US one. Wouldn't you love coming home to this every day? I'm rather amazed when I look at it because of the tropical plants, but Norfolk is how the photo was labelled. In any case, British or not, it's quite lovely. |

Moving on to warmer climates, this is the Cavriglia Rose Garden in Italy. It features the largest private rose collection in the world - more than 7000 unique and distinct varieties. Mother used to love planting roses, so she'd get a kick out of this garden. She liked peacocks too, so she'd be very happy here. |
|
This lovely group of color and shade is in the Pacific Northwest of the US. I love the various colors and differing heights, all lending to a place that just asks you to explore. |
|
Finally, because my mother adored Mexico and visited there often, a small Mexican patio garden just for her. This is the kind of place where she would have loved sitting in the cool evenings or entertaining guests with a light dinner. |
So there you have it. An exploration of some lovely gardens around the world, just for my mother. Why Mom? No real reason, except she loved color and gardens and never let a closed door or gate get between her and lovely flowers. Have a great Friday everyone...
