The Clock is Ticking, Therefore I Clean

Sunday was spent cleaning and catching up. We started with breakfast out to take advantage of a coupon that was expiring. It (the food, not the coupon) was quite 'nummy. After a quick trip to Target to get a birthday card for a friend's upcoming 50th birthday, we returned home and we were ready to jump into action. Action, for me, meant the continuation of cleaning before my BFF Sharon arrives at the end of the month.

I want a magic wand for cleaning bathroom tile. This scrubbing each
and every grout line is for the birds! I'm getting too old for this s__t!

I spent most of the day on the shower, working and scrubbing one wall at a time. I'd spray with bleach, let that sit for an hour while cleaning something else, and then go back and spray again, this time scrubbing each grout line. It looks pretty good this morning (except for the ceiling which is on my Wednesday to-do list), and it was a lot of work. I have to keep up with it now, though. Summer heat and humidity are my enemies in this.

I don't have a perching dragon like this lovely one. Maybe
I should look for one? No. I probably have enough dragons
by now. ... maybe ...

I dusted my dragon shelves. Usually I actually use glass cleaner, but this time I just dusted and they look fine. I'll try to get a thorough glass clean at another time, but my dragons are all preening because they feel loved and attractive once more. And I know this how? Well - they TOLD me, of course. Dragons are very communicative.

I love Swiffer products because I love products that
actually work well and do what they are supposed to do.
Swiffer products are superb at grabbing dust.

After doing well with that assortment of glass, I started in on the living room, doing a thorough clean of the sideboard, the end tables and the coffee table. I even took the lampshades off and dusted them thoroughly outside.

I have a high-end business shredder for my home, but it's not an
industrial shredder, thus can't tolerate hours on hours of non-stop
work without burning out the motor.

DH, in the meanwhile, was busy trying to blow up our shredder. He cleaned his desktop (it was seriously needed) and came up with a large pile of papers needing to be shredded. Then he began overheating and overloading my poor shredder. After instructing him sharply in how NOT to destroy my equipment, he settled a bit and things got better. He started going through some of the boxes but (of course) didn't get very far. He did mount the two cast brass bells we had rescued on two walls. They have such lovely sounds, I'm quite pleased they came home with us.

Although I didn't eat this particular burger, my fries were the
same as these. I enjoyed both my burger and my fries, so I
consider my expedition to SmashBurger to have been successful.

After five hours of cleaning I declared I was DONE for the day and we changed clothing and went to SmashBurger to give them a try. I was unexpectedly impressed. The burgers were excellent and their fries were fabulous! I'll eat there again.

Congrats and well played to Rory Mcilroy, the third youngest winner
of the PGA Championship. He's hit his form this year, winning the
British Open earlier. I'm very impressed with his play.

Coming back home, I caught up on some computer work and then joined DH to watch the end of the golf tournament. What a finish! It was well worth the watch. After golf we caught up with the first two episodes of Season 13 of Project Runway, so now I'm only one episode behind. Much better.

Sandhya Garg is one of the contestants on Season 13 of
Project Runway. She bring the color and joy of India
into her work, while thumbing her nose at the more
repressive parts of that society. I like her - she's gutsy
and has good design sense.

So I was too busy on Sunday to be depressed, and that's an excellent thing. I hope you had a great weekend too. Happy Monday to all!
