Day Off Photo Blog - Amusement Park Rides

I've been getting out late for the past two days, and since today's list of errands is huge, I can't afford to do that today. So ... a photo blog for the day seemed more advisable. Now ... what to choose ...

The State Fair starts in two weeks and I'm nowhere
close to ready. But, I'm going to choose photos of
amusement park rides because they're a lot of fun and
really great to look at.

This looks like a fabulous roller coaster. I love going
up and down the hills and around the curves of a good
coaster. They're on-the-edge exciting.

The flying swings were one of the first small
carnival rides I can recall from the days of my
youth. I still love that feeling of flight.

I used to adore the Pirate Ship when it still came to town. Even DH
liked this one. We'd sit in the very back and never hold on as we swung
higher and higher. Because it didn't move in a circular
direction, DH and his horrid ears were fine.

Of course, every county fair and amusement park must have a Ferris
Wheel of some type, and the very large ones are focal points
in London, Paris and Vienna. This one isn't super large, but quite
colorful and looks fun. If I feel like I can fall out of my seat, then the
Ferris Wheel frightens me more than any other ride.

When I was a child, my parents would take me to a local toy store. They
had a small amusement park on their roof and what I loved to ride
again and again was the small Ferris wheel, similar to this. I was able to
get so high and see so far. Fond memories...

No amusement park is complete without a carousel. Whether the
one you rode had a variety of animals, or just horses, it was always
a magical experience that transported you to another realm.

Capping off my trip to an Amusement Park is the iconic
Tilt-a-Whirl. This long-standing favorite was (and still is)
a Minnesota-made product. We're proud of our small
contribution to the smiles of children and adults everywhere.

So as you wander through your day today, don't forget that life offers many experiences, not unlike the amusement park. Choose your rides and enjoy them while you're on them. The tickets are expensive and you can't repeat the experience. As the saying goes:  "Life is not a dress rehearsal." Have a great Wednesday and I'll be back with more text tomorrow.
