A Fairin' We Shall Go

The Minnesota State Fair is in full swing and DH and I are going out tonight after work. I am under strict instructions to have a plan of attack because DH doesn't want to be walking all around the grounds after a full day of work. I totally understand, so here's my plan of attack...

I'm thinking about maybe eating some of this - a Caribbean-Style Lobster
Roll at Cafe Caribe. I'll have to check Heavy Table's web site for the
new food reviews.

There's a whole new section in the State Fair this year. Heritage Square, one of the oldest sections, was demolished and a new venue was built along with a transportation hub. One of the new eateries in that area is called LuLu's Public House and it's gotten rave reviews, both for its rooftop patio and the food. They ave a deep-fried lobster on a stick that looks quite tasty.

This is Deep-Fried Lobster On-A-Stick at LuLu's and I'm fairly tempted. I fully
admit that I'm in the Midwest and there's not a source for lobster within
1000+ miles of me, but I still love seafood and lobster is tempting - very tempting.

LuLu's Public House looks like a fun place to visit at any rate...

LuLu's Public House is getting a good reputation as a fun place to
go with good food and drink. Since the State Fair is a food and drink
emporium (along with looking at bunnies, horses, and lots of people),
I want to at least see the inside of this new vendor.

Another new vendor is The Blue Barn. I'm not sure what they're serving, but I want to see what they are all about. It's going to be a Saturday night at the Fair and everyplace will be hopping.

I'm not sure what The Blue Barn is selling, but it's big and
it's blue, so I guess there's truth in advertising :-)

DH also wants to know what musical events will happen tonight. Unfortunately, there's nothing really happening musically that we'll be interested in. Blood Sweat and Tears just finished up two days, but now we have country and salsa for the weekend *sigh*. Although we don't mind country or salsa, it's nothing that will push us to make a special walk over to one of the many free stages.

I love the Minnesota State Fair. I guess I just enjoy being part
of the whole experience. Crazy, I know, because it is hot, expensive,
and very crowded - but I LOVE the State Fair.

I have to figure out my schedule, so I'll just wish all of you a great weekend. We'll be at the Fair tonight and we'll be at Renaissance Festival tomorrow for the Buccaneer Beer Fest.
