Thursday night's snowstorm wasn't as bad as it could have been, but still dumped between 4"-5" upon us. DH and I had agreed to switch days off, so I had Thursday off and he'll get today off. He did snow blow the driveway for me so that I could get out to the grocery shops, and then I went out in the late afternoon to shovel the plow scree and do a bit of clean-up on the one inch that had fallen since his morning efforts. It's a wet, heavy snow - more like a Springtime snow than winter's dryer mix.

Spring snows are usually heavier - more laden with moisture. Yesterday's snow, although it happened in January, was much more like a Spring snow, and that could be a problem with clearing the roof. |
He'll be spending today working on getting the snow off the roof so that we don't get any ceiling leaks, and he's going to absolutely HATE it. It's going to be a hard slog for him to get that done. It will be below freezing all day, although not in the deep freeze, the upper 20's (-2 C or so for my centigrade friends). Hopefully it won't be a horrid day.
I spent the day at the grocery store, then at home cooking. I made my Roasted Tomato and Pepper soup, and then a big batch of chili with some thinly-sliced steak and some wild rice sausages instead of the ground beef that I usually use. It should be quite yummy. I wasn't in the mood to eat much last night, so only had a salad. But I'm already looking forward to tonight's dinner.
Although we have the threat of snow today, it's a very small chance and probably won't happen at all. I will head to the YMCA in a bit more than 30 minutes to get my third swim of the week in. I'm glad I pushed it out a day. I wouldn't have wanted to be on the roads at 4:00 am before the street was well plowed and the driveway was cleared. I hope all of you have a fabulous Friday, and once again, I apologize, Aearwen, for having to push off our weekly conversation yet again. Next week FOR SURE! Slava Ukraini.
