Week Two in the Pool - Life Is Good!

Today is a swimming day and I've added a new thing to my swim wardrobe. I bought a set of swimming gloves from Amazon last week. The chlorine in the pool had interacted with my hands so poorly last week that I had open cracks in my fingers - one finger in particular. Ouch! So, I'm trying a set of swim gloves to protect my hands from the chemicals.

I purchased a set of these swimming gloves
in the hopes of keeping the chlorine away from
my hands as much as possible. It won't be
100% of course, but it will be maximal
protection. Now to see if they actually work
with my swimming gear and in the water.

I've always had a problem with chlorine, but it's intensified as I've grown older. I'm not sure if it's because my natural skin oils are lessened because of age, or if my skin has just decided to be more picky. Whatever the cause, it left me with a large open crack over my top knuckle my right hand middle finger after last week's three days in the pool. It's healed now, but it was painful and just reminded me that I might react slightly differently to my general environment now that I'm on cancer drugs. I'll see how they work. I just have to remember to put my watch over the glove so that I can track my strokes.

I actually feel as if I'm thinking with greater
clarity now that I've been allowed to start
taking my usual vitamins and minerals once
again. There are various supplements that I
take which really make a difference in my
brain clarity and focus.

Thursday is my MEMORY TEST evaluation in Minneapolis. Chickie and DH are sure I'm losing my brain capacity, I think a lot of that was cancer and my inability to take any of my supplements or vitamins for months. I feel clear, sharp, concise and raring to go these last few days, and I hope that will translate to a good report from the memory Doc because DH and Chickie are quite sure I'm quickly becoming a senile idiot. Then again, if a senile idiot doesn't have to work, can exercise every day, and can bury her head in a book and/or computer games on her phone all the time, I'll consider that a win.

I love reading on my phone, as well as doing various
games and puzzles on my phone. DH plays Bridge on
his phone, and yells at it for stupid bids. I'd rather work
on a puzzle that doesn't irritate me. Different strokes
for different folks. I also read on my phone. It saves me
from having physical books taking up space in my house.

So, I'm off to the pool in 15 minutes, time to wrap this up. I'm so happy all of you have been with me on this journey. Having friends - near and far - who were holding my hand, talking to me as if I was a human being with a brain, and encouraging me ... well, it was amazing, wonderful, and I'm more grateful that I'll ever be able to express. Veilen Danke Shoen. Muchas Gracias, and Thank You SOOOO Much! Big hugs out to all of you - my friends and my readers. Have a great Tuesday and I'll be back tomorrow. Slava Ukraini.
