Today starts the final week of Sharon preparation (she arrives on the 31st), and despite the fact that I started ahead of schedule, I'm running behind. So frustrating. Those hours wasted on DH's website could really have been more effectively used in clean-up. The house may not be as clean as I want (I'll be working hard on it on Wednesday and on Thursday morning), but Sharon won't mind. I know she always cares more about spending time together and catching up with the previous year and our friendship, than having the house pristine.
OMG, I almost laughed aloud at that thought. "Pristine"! I don't think this house has EVER been "pristine: and it probably never will be again. LOL Still, I do try to keep cobwebs out of the corners, dust and dirt away from the kitchen, and do basic vacuuming and cleanup. I don't enjoy living in a messy house, but my "spare" time is seriously limited.
I'm still fine-tuning a couple of things on this year's holiday cards, and I have deadlines for that project staring me in the face. The fact that I was ahead of schedule two months ago doesn't mean I'm ahead of things right now. I have accumulated what I need for the next stages at the shop and will dive into the actual cards after Sharon leaves. I'll have two months plus to get them finished, and there's still a lot to be done.
Renaissance Festival yesterday was enjoyable. The weather was absolutely PERFECT. I had brought a cover-up along in the car just in case, but I was actually quite comfortable, so I didn't bother bringing it into the Festival grounds with me. I'll take the good weather weekends for as long as I can. By the time Fest comes to a close in another month plus, it'll be just plain COLD.
I need my Ren Shoes redone - they've stretched out and are much too large. I looked at other shoes yesterday, but I didn't like them as much, so DH checked his phone and my original cobbler is still in business up in Moose Lake, Minnesota. I'll try to contact him this week and see if he might be able to do something so that I can wear my favorite set of shoes again. They won't be completed by the end of this year's Fest, but hopefully I'll be able to wear them again next year.
So, that's about it. Nothing major happening, and all told, that's actually a really good thing. Have an excellent Monday and week ahead. I'll be back tomorrow. Slava Ukraini.
